Work for us

Work for a company that puts care first

Ashley Care has led from the front in the care sector since 1987, and in homecare specifically since 2003. We are a family-run company with a strong family ethos. We offer flexible working hours to fit around our staff and their families, as well as competitive rates of pay. Unlike many home care providers, we operate a weekly payroll, so you are renumerated quicker for the work you do. Delivering care throughout the Southend Borough allows us to create small, focused areas of care needs, meaning less travel time and greater efficiency for staff working out in the community. Whether you are new to social care or an experienced professional, we have training programmes to support your ongoing professional development. At Ashley Care, everyone takes pride in the vital work we do. As well as taking care of our clients, we take care of our staff too.

Not sure if working in the care profession is for you?  We have been working with Skills for Care to dispel many of the myths around working in care, and to counter some common misconceptions. Take a look at Working in Care – Common Myths.

So, come and join us and be part of a profession to be proud of.

Senior Carers – Response & Assessment Provision

For New Home Care Response & Assessment Provision in Southend.

Ashley Care has been commissioned to provide a new response and assessment provision to help ease Southend’s escalating demand for Social Care in vulnerable people’s homes.

The demand for social care in Southend is reaching a crisis point and increasing numbers of vulnerable people desperately need help to live independently. As our Healthcare colleagues tackle the NHS treatment backlog, more people recently discharged from hospital need support.  There are also more significant numbers coming forward in our area identified as vulnerable or at risk through the pandemic. The care crisis is every bit as real here in Southend as it is widely reported to be nationwide.

Working in Partnership with Southend Social Services, Ashley Care has been asked to provide a new interim response service with immediate effect. We will visit those awaiting homecare to assess their needs, deliver the necessary care and prepare a personalised care plan, ready for when other providers can continue with the care permanently.

Ashley’s Response & Assessment Team are tasked with providing a vital interim solution. It will promote independence where achievable and create a workable and personal care plan to meet the client’s needs in the future.

We need Senior Carers to work alongside our current team.

  • Applicants need to be car owners/drivers with previous home/community care experience
  • We offer a guaranteed working week with all travel time included
  • Good rates of pay and petrol refund assistance
  • The service operates from 7.00 am – 11.00 pm, 7 days a week, so we can be flexible with working hours to complement family life.

We would love to hear from anyone interested in joining us.  For further information, please email vikki.kackson@ashleycare.com

Response Care Worker

Hours: 40 hrs per week guaranteed

We are looking for experienced carers to play an important role in supporting our community care teams as a Response Care Worker.

Response Care Workers act as our emergency back-up, ensuring the quality of care is maintained throughout all the services we offer. You will effectively be on ‘standby’, reacting and responding promptly to the demands of a busy service, day-to-day – coordinating daily workloads for staff and providing client care where needed, during unplanned absences or for urgent referrals.  The role is very broad and diverse, with no two days likely to be the same.

You will have experience in community care and already have, or be willing to work towards, a Diploma in Health & Social Care at Level 3. You will be an excellent communicator, able to talk with clients and their families with empathy, clarity and professionalism. Most working hours will be spent out in the community attending to our most vulnerable clients’ needs in their own homes.

Care calls will be covered in shifts from 07:00 – 23:00, working over a four-shift system. This will involve alternate weeks, with the availability of early and late shifts.   Remuneration is hourly with good pay rates with guaranteed 40hrs per week, including alternate weekends and paid travel time between clients.  You will only work within the Southend Borough but will need a full driving license and access to your own vehicle.

Reablement Care Team

We have new opportunities for carers to join our expanding Reablement Care Team, working in the Westcliff and Shoebury areas of the Southend Borough.

Working with clients who have been discharged from hospital, you will provide short-term care during their recovery period and support them as they return to living independently in their own homes again. This will include some personal care and help with domestic tasks. More than just doing things ‘for’ the client, the right candidates will do things ‘with’ the client – working with them and others, such as Occupational Therapists and other medical staff, to encourage and facilitate their recovery and rehabilitation.

You must be able to drive, have access to a vehicle and ideally live within easy reach of the Westcliff and Shoebury areas. Full time and part-time posts are available with shifts throughout the day and evenings, although it is expected that alternative weekend working will be achievable.  We offer competitive rates of pay and, unlike many home care providers, operate a weekly payroll. The position also comes with travel time allowance and petrol cost assistance, plus full training.
