Work for us

Work for a company that puts care first

Ashley Care has led from the front in the care sector since 1987, and in homecare specifically since 2003. We are a family-run company with a strong family ethos. We offer flexible working hours to fit around our staff and their families, as well as competitive rates of pay. Unlike many home care providers, we operate a weekly payroll, so you are renumerated quicker for the work you do. Delivering care throughout the Southend Borough allows us to create small, focused areas of care needs, meaning less travel time and greater efficiency for staff working out in the community. Whether you are new to social care or an experienced professional, we have training programmes to support your ongoing professional development. At Ashley Care, everyone takes pride in the vital work we do. As well as taking care of our clients, we take care of our staff too.

Not sure if working in the care profession is for you?  We have been working with Skills for Care to dispel many of the myths around working in care, and to counter some common misconceptions. Take a look at Working in Care – Common Myths.

So, come and join us and be part of a profession to be proud of.

Here’s a list of our current vacancies. If you would like any further information, please email vikki.jackson@ashleycare.com or call 01702 343789.

Current Job Opportunities

Out of Hours Service Manager – 2 Posts

When our offices are closed, the provision of care continues and so, having recently restructured our Co-Ordination and On-Call teams, we have created a new opportunity for 2 people to fill a shared role of Out of Hours Service Manager, involving alternate weekend working.

  • The job requires experience in managing nursing/care teams in the community.
  • You will know how to deal with and respond to unplanned absences and emergencies.
  • The hours of required cover are from 17:00 to 23:00, and 06:30 to 09.00 on weekdays, and between 06:30 and 23:00 on alternate weekends/bank holidays.
  • Within these hours of cover, you will be responsible for answering the On-Call Mobile phones and for dealing with the various enquiries and issues that arise from our clients and our carers across all services.
  • If necessary, you will also be prepared to deliver an emergency care service to support our care teams in the field.
  • The delivery of this job role can be from home and/or from our offices in Southend.
  • You will need to be able to drive and have the use of a car.
  • As well as having the support of your job-share colleague, you will have a Service Manager for back-up and to ratify decisions, responses and actions as required.

This is an important position(s) of seniority and remuneration will be offered accordingly – and importantly, to cover every hour that you are on call. We also help with travel/fuel costs etc.  Internal and external training can also be offered as required to support your career progression.

Ashley Care is one of Southend’s leading and longest-serving social care providers.

  • We are a family-run company with a strong family ethos.
  • Our staff have flexible working hours to fit around them and their families.
  • If you are an experienced professional, we have a training programme to support your ongoing development where appropriate.
  • We deliver care under contract to the Southend Borough Council and the Local Health Authority.
  • We are a happy, positive team with client and staff wellbeing at the heart of the company.

Everyone here at Ashley Care, from our senior management to those working out in the community, takes pride in the important work we do. We consider it our privilege to serve our clients with respect, compassion, and dignity always. This core belief is at the heart of the company and underpins its success and the quality care outcomes we achieve.

We would love for you to join us working a profession to be proud of.
